Therapy Room

We service patients with many types of chronic pain. We do not prescribe pain management medications. For severe pain management issues, we partner with pain management groups to assist you in your recovery. We also offer some non-traditional methods for managing pain called Cupping and Gua Sha. These services are cash pay.

What is Cupping?

Cupping therapy is when a provider puts special cups on your skin to help with pain, inflammation, improved blood flow, relaxation and well-being. During dry cupping, the provider will use alcohol and a hand pump to create a vacuum over the skin area. This will cause your skin to rise and redden as your blood vessels expand. For deeper pain, the cup will be in place for as long as 20 minutes. The area where the cup was placed will appear red and raised for up to ten days after a treatment. For many patients, this treatment relieves aggravated pain in the back, hips, and neck area.

What is Gua Sha?

Gua sha is a natural therapy that involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to improve your circulation. This ancient Chinese healing technique may offer a unique approach to better health, addressing issues like chronic pain. The provider will use a tool repeatedly in problematic areas (and may cause some discomfort during the procedure). Many patients respond favorably with increased relief of chronic pain.

If you are experiencing pain and would like to try one of these therapies, please contact our office for an appointment.
