Benefits of Health Coach

The American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) and the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) announced a strategic collaboration to advance behavior change through health and wellness coaching.

ACLM and NBHWC frequently address lifestyle behaviors with patients that relate to the six pillars of lifestyle medicine -- a whole food, plant-predominant eating pattern, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances, and positive social connections.

"Evidence-based lifestyle behavior interventions are proven to treat, prevent, and reverse many chronic conditions, but simple telling a patient what lifestyle changes to make is not enough," ACLM President and Harvard Medical School Clinical Assistant Professor Beth Frates ,MD, FACML, DipABLM. "Knowledge is important but, to achieve lasting behavior change, patients also need coaching to motivate them and help them determine how to make and maintain lifestyle behavior changes to improve their health and wellbeing."

At Coze Health Medical, we offer health and wellness coaching with coaches who are certified by the National Board for Health & Wellness. We strongly recommend that all patients receive one visioning health coach appointment per year and offer more frequent options for patients who need additional support.
